• Crust – is the thin layer of solid rock that makes up Earth’s outer most layers.
• Mantle – a hot thick layer of solid and partly melted rock.
• Outer Core – a dense hot region that is made up mostly of liquid iron and some nickel.
• Inner Core – a large ball of iron and nickel.
• Plate Tectonics – from these new observations, and the previous observation made by Wegener, the theory.
• Continental Crust – the part of Earth’s crust that has continents on them.
• Oceanic Crust – the parts that have only oceans floor on them.
